FEPS likes to take part in competitions external to the club as they help give us a wider perspective on our photography. They also add to the prestige of the club when our images do well.
The main external competitions are organised by the Chilterns Association of Camera Clubs (CACC), which is the regional organisation for camera clubs in the area. They organise The Rosebowl, a digital competition organised over three initial rounds against a range of different clubs, followed by a final. In the Spring all the clubs in the CACC come together for a Championship Day where we all compete together in both print and digital categories.
We also compete in more local competitions including the North West Federation of Camera Clubs, which includes both digital and print images. Various local clubs organise their own external competitions such as Harrow Camera Club, which holds the Ron Wake competition in honour of a former club member.
FEPS’ entries for the competitions are chosen from the club’s internal competition entries by a small committee of members who are familiar with the kind of images which are likely to do well against other clubs.
