COMPETITION: NORTH WEST FED ROUND 1

VENUE: AMERSHAM

DATE: 20.10.25

JUDGE: Martin Patten

OVERVIEW: The Competition for the Club Trophy comprises a First Round of several Matches and a Final. For the First Round, Clubs are divided into Groups by means of a draw. Each Club in each Group hosts a home Match in which all the Clubs of that Group compete. The Clubs winning the First Round Groups compete in the Final.  During each of the First Round Matches, Judges will award two Stars to prints and two Stars to projected images. The Starred images are displayed at the Final event, where Trophies are awarded to the photographers of the best print and the best projected image. Highly Commended certificates are also awarded.  Any Club having no Starred print at the end of the First Round, may nominate an unaltered print from its entry, and this is eligible alongside the Starred prints for the best print Trophy and any Highly Commended awards at the Final. The same applies to projected images.

COMMENTARY: The first round of the North West Fed Competition was held at Amersham on 20th October.  There was a good turn out of FEPS supporters at the event.  The first half of the competition focussed on prints.  It was a close competition with FEPS finishing one point ahead of Amersham. There are two starred images in each section and FEPS were awarded both stars:

AN ANXIOUS WAIT by Belinda Ewart

Sadly, FEPS did less well in the PDI section of the competition and Amersham surged ahead. The two PDI starred images came from Amersham.

The final scores were:

  • Amersham: 179 points
  • Field End:  173 points
  • Ealing and Hampshire House:  165 points

The next round of the NW FED will be held at FEPS on 29th October.
