Field End Photography Society Equality & Behaviour Policy

Everyone has a right to be treated with dignity, respect and courtesy in all their interactions and dealings during all club activities.  The club recognises that everyone has the right to participate in an environment that is free from harassment, bullying and discrimination.  

The club will not tolerate any form of discrimination as identified in the Equality Act 2010 under the nine protected characteristics of age, race, sex, religion, sexual orientation, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, maternity and paternity leave. Furthermore, behaviour which is deemed as bullying or harassment will not be tolerated and will be dealt with in the same way as discrimination.

The Committee are expected to set an appropriate standard of behaviour and to lead by example, ensuring that others adhere to the club’s policy and promote FEPS aims and objectives to equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion.

Members and visitors are expected to:

  • Speak politely and courteously to others and to always treat others with dignity and respect
  • Be aware of the impact their behaviour may have on others and address this if this impact is potentially negative
  • Communicate openly, honestly and with sensitivity
  • Be polite, respectful and constructive in their postings on the club’s social media sites
  • Report any behavioural concerns or breaches of this policy to the Chairperson or Secretary as soon as possible*

The Chairperson will ensure that any complaints relating to inappropriate behaviour or breaches of this policy are thoroughly investigated in accordance with the club’s complaints procedure.

*If the complaint is about the Chairperson, the Secretary should be the point of referral and s/he will ensure the complaint is investigated according to the Complaint’s procedure

Every club member has a shared duty to ensure a club environment free from discrimination, harassment and/or bullying.
