FEPS Outing: Sunday 07 September 2025: Brent Valley

Our first* outing for the 2025-26 season is a local one.

FEPS TRIPS   SUNDAY SEPT 7TH

BRENT VALLEY

Most of us have driven along the Western Avenue towards Central London without noticing the adjacent tranquil Brent Valley. Join your colleagues on this FEPS TRIP to kick-start the new season.

An opportunity to slowly explore this parkland / wooded area for about 1 ½ –2 miles. You can easily while away a few hours photographing, grasses, a variety of trees, fallen trees, flowers, the River Brent, a scrape which attracts coots, moorhens and herons. The variety of flowers, grasses and bushes will vary according to season. You may well help yourselves to some blackberries on the way (if any are left).

We will meet at 10:30am opposite to the Lidl store in Ruislip Road East, Greenford. If travelling from Ruislip use the E7 bus to Greenford (Lidls’), if travelling from Northwood and Eastcote use the 282 bus (destination Ealing Hospital) to Greenford Broadway—then walk forward to cross the Greenford Road to Lidls’, if travelling from Sudbury use the 92 bus (Ealing Hospital) to Greenford Broadway—the walk forward to the traffic lights, turn left and go on to Lidl.

We will finish this part of the day by Hanwell F.C. (adjacent to the Perivale Underpass on the A40). Return by E5 bus to Greenford (Clifton Road), or walk to the roundabout and use E2, E7, E9 to return to Greenford (Clifton Road).

For those who wish to continue we will walk along pathways (after brief road walk) to St. Mary’s Church, Perivale; then on footpaths through the golf course, by the allotments and park to find The Duke of Kent pub for meal and drink. Return from there by E2 bus to Greenford (Clifton Road), or E9 bus to Greenford Broadway.

Please let Trevor, or Munjal, if you want to join us

*Fancy an ‘ad-hoc’ photographic outing during the Summer break? Please post your ideas on the ‘Field End outings’ WhatsApp group and let us know if you like the idea of a few hours around London, an afternoon or evening after work.
Please contact the trip organisers with your ideas for FEPS Outings, e.g. on our ongoing theme of: ‘Backstreets of London’.

FEPS Trips are open to all members.  Locations vary and include local trips, visits further afield and sometimes overnight stays with a view to explore the unfamiliar in a variety of different locations. All trips are thoroughly researched by trip organizers for photographic interest.
For all trips, members are responsible for all their personal costs; travel, food, refreshments, accommodation (where relevant) and all members are responsible for their own safety.
Please refer to FEPS policies such as Equality and Respect and the Safeguarding policy prior to attending a trip.
Trip information is shared in advance and subject to weather conditions, travel restrictions and availability of leaders.  Keep an eye on the website, the ‘Field End outings’ WhatsApp group and your email for updates.  The organisers are very happy to answer any questions.
