7 September – FEPS Freshers
Welcome to the start of the new season. Prospective members can get an idea of what we do at Field End; existing members can revisit some highlights of last season; and all can meet and greet. Some of our organisers will introduce themselves and give an idea of how the club works and share some of the highlights for the coming season.

14 September – Speaker – Change to original programme
Viveca Koh is a self-taught Fine Art photographer whose talk ‘A Photographer’s Perspective: My Life Through a Lens‘ will discuss her work with various photographic techniques that include texture layers and overlays, experimenting with digital double exposure and using old documents.

21 September – Competition
Projected Open No. 1 – Our first digital projected competition of the season. Judge to be announced on the evening. Up to 3 entries allowed. See important notes earlier in the booklet for entry size, rules and format.

28 September – Competition
Print Open No. 1 – The first print competition of the season. Judge to be announced on the evening. Up to 2 entries allowed Maximum mount size 40 x 50 cm. Please take note of rules.


5 October – Speaker – Change to original programme
Steven Galvin. Steven will be speaking to us about his work as a judge for photographic competitions. ‘Judge, Jury & Executioner!’ will give a fascinating insight into the world of club competitions.

12 October – Competition
Projected Set Subject No. 1 – Our first set subject competition is “Transport”. Judge will be announced on the night.

19 October – Speaker
Antonio Zazueta Olmos is a photo journalist and editorial portrait photographer, his images are about life in our communities, poignant and storytelling.

26 October – Competition
Print Open No. 2 – The second print competition, Judge to be announced on the evening. Up to 2 entries allowed. Please take note of the rules.


2 November – External Competition
NW Fed at Home – Field End PS against Stoke Poges and Croxley Judge to be announced on the evening.

16 November – Speaker
Sophie Carr is a photographer who is in love with her craft, this will be apparent when you see the images she makes of Iceland.

23 November – Competition
Norma Bateman Rose Bowl Projected digital competition. Subject this year is “Book or Song titles”. Judge to be announced on the evening. Up to 4 entries allowed. See important notes earlier in the booklet for entry size, rules and format.

30 November – Workshop
Complementary Colours – To tie in with our Set Subject competition FEPS member Catherine Allen will give a short talk on complementary colours, after which club members will get a chance to try out what they have learnt in our colourful still life workshop. Remember to bring your cameras and tripods!


7 December – Speaker
Jet Black Squares Phone Photography will present a masterclass designed to give you the skills to better utilise your smartphone camera and how to release its full, photographic potential.

14 December – FEPS Christmas Social
Please join us at The Woodman Pub, Pinner for our Christmas social featuring food, quiz, raffle and booze!

Paul Sanders is a landscape photographer, he will talk about how he includes mindfulness in his photography Hand in titles for print comp 3.

11 January – Competition
Print Open No. 3 – Our third Print Competition. Judge to be announced on the evening. Up to two entries allowed. Please take note of the rules

18 January – Speaker
Andy Skillen has been a wildlife photographer, photojournalist and film footage provider for more than 25 years. Andy’s talk “Walking with Bears” will focus (no pun intended!) on some of his work, face-to-face (literally) with two of the biggest land-carnivores on the planet….the grizzly and polar bear.

25 January – Competition

Mark Seymour will be talking to us about his street photography.

15 February – Studio Evening
Brian Worley Portraiture Photography with models – Brian impressed us last year when he showed how to take studio images, we are having the same again so bring your cameras.

Matthew Cattell’s talk will cover a number of projects which will explore landscape and seascape, woodland and wildlife.

15 March – Members’ Evening
“Match a Digital” – Our very own match a digital and time for a bit of fun, we will have 3 teams competing to get the best match.

22 March – Competition
Projected Set Subject No. 3 – The final set subject competition of the season. The subject is “Complementary Colours”.

29 March – AV Evening
Tonight, we are showing your audio-visual presentations.


5 April – Speaker
Kate Pesket has an amazing ability to capture wildlife in fine detail, and beautiful light. She will show her favourite images and give an insight to how they are made.

12 April – Competition
Projected Open No. 4 – The final Projected Open Competition. Judge to be announced on the evening. Up to 3 entries allowed. See important notes earlier in the booklet for entry size, rules and format.

19 April – Competition
Print of the Year – Bring along your monochrome prints to compete for the Jewell Cup, and colour prints for the Bison Shield. Judge to be announced on the evening. Up to two entries allowed for each trophy.

26 April – Members’ Evening
One of our greatest assets is our membership, Belinda Ewart and Justin Grant will be inspiring you with their images and creativity.


3 May – Speaker
Harry Behind the Lens – The Three Coasts – At the age of 20 Harry has shown a talent capturing amazing coastal landscapes, his talk will inspire you to take your own.

7 – 20 May – FEPS Annual Photographic Exhibition
Held at the Cow Byre, Ruislip

10 May – Change to original programme – Exhibition Club Viewing
From 7pm till 8pm club members are invited to a private viewing of the FEPS annual exhibition followed by drinks at The Hop & Vine pub

17 May – Speaker
Dominic Beaven – A highly creative and able photographer, his images show style and emotion and an attention to detail that few will match.

24 May – Annual General Meeting
Please show that you care about Field End PS by attending this important evening. The new committee will be elected and it is your chance to share your views and ideas about the running of the Society.

31 May – Members Evening
Short Talks – Three of our members will be showing some of their work and give an insight to what inspires them to take pictures.


7 June – Competition
Projected Image of the Year – The season’s best projected images will be on display as the competition takes place. Judge to be announced on the evening.
Note: Entries must be numbered in order of preference. If the competition is oversubscribed the number of entries per member may be reduced from the maximum of three.

14 June – Competition
Three Print Panel – Each panel competes for The Edith King Memorial Trophy. A panel should consist of three prints, which are linked by a common theme or consistency of style.
Prints should be numbered in the order in which they are to be presented. Each print panel will be judged on: composition, lighting, techniques used, print quality, cohesion and panel presentation. Judge to be announced on the evening.

21 June – Speaker
Harry Staff and Sarah Smiler – Night sky photography is their passion while wedding photography pays the bills! Images from various mountain tops and travels through the UK, France, Spain and Morocco will be on display with a commentary on the joys and the pitfalls of three months in a van.

28 June – Social Evening and Presentation of Awards
An enjoyable way to finish our season with a buffet and presentation of all the season’s trophies.
