FEPS Outing Sunday 7 June 2026 Burnham-On-Crouch

Start Location: Burnham-on-Crouch Station Car Park.

PLACES OF INTEREST COVERED:

We start our journey outside Burnham-on-Crouch station and we have outline below the following points of interest on the way:
 
  • SEVERAL OLD BUILDINGS WITH WIERD ARCHITECTURE 
  • POLICE STATION THAT LOOKS LIKE A NORMAL HOME
  • THE CINEMA RIO
  • BURNHAM CLOCK TOWER
  • THE OLD POST OFFICE
  • NARROW STREETS OFF MAIN ROAD – HIGH STREET
  • ROYAL CORINITHIAN YACHT CLUB
  • THE CABIN DAIRY (For Ice cream and refreshments)
  • BURNHAM FERRY TO WALLASEA ISLAND (OPTIONAL  – EXTRA COST & FERRY RUNS ON DEMAND. NEEDS TO BE BOOKED IN ADVANCED).
  • SHIPWRECKS ON THE RIVER FRONT
  • BURNHAM YACHT HARBOUR
  • RIVER FRONT WALK (Note NOT a flat walking surface)
    • SHIPS DOCKED ON WALLASEA ISLAND DOCK.
    • VARIOUS SHRUBS/PLANTS/FLOWERS THAT ARE ONLY FOUND ON RIVERSIDE
    • HILLTOP HOUSES AND VILLAS
  • PUB MEAL AT ALTHORN (approx 4pm).  NOTE MEALS MUST BE PRE-BOOKED
  • NORTH FAMBRIDGE FOR SUNSET PHOTOS.
  • BRENT GEESE, WIDGEON, TEALS, ETC.

Total walking distance: approx. 5-10 miles dependant on your interest.

This trip is weather dependent; in the event of heavy and/or persistent rain, this trip will be postponed.

FEPS Trips are open to all members.  Locations vary and include local trips, visits further afield and sometimes overnight stays with a view to explore the unfamiliar in a variety of different locations. All trips are thoroughly researched by trip organizers for photographic interest.
For all trips, members are responsible for all their personal costs; travel, food, refreshments, accommodation (where relevant) and all members are responsible for their own safety.
